This course introduces students to the key ideas and tools used to understand how economies interact on a global scale. It focuses on why countries trade, how trade patterns are determined, and how international economic policies shape outcomes for businesses, governments, and individuals. Students will explore both the real side of the global economy—including trade in goods and services—and the financial side, such as exchange rates and cross-border capital flows. The course combines theoretical models with real-world examples to build intuition about globalization, trade policy debates, and international financial systems.
